<image:caption>Your first visit at our practice will take about an hour. We will get to the root of your problem, offer conservative and advanced treatment options (based on your condition), and make a plan together. Sometimes other procedures such as urodynamics, imaging studies, or cystoscopy will be recommended if needed. Pessary fittings or in depth surgical discussions are usually completed at a follow up visit.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: UTI - Cranberry Pills</image:title>
<image:caption>When getting a cranberry supplement, find one with 36 PACs per day- Theracran is one of the only affordable brands that has lab confirmed amounts of the active ingredient- highly recommend!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: UTI - D-Mannose</image:title>
<image:caption>This supplement acts by blocking bacteria’s ability to attack your bladder cells. 2,000 mg of D-Mannose daily has been shown to reduce the risk of bladder infections. You can also use 2,000 mg twice a day when you have an active infection to reduce pain symptoms!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: UTI - Vaginal Probiotics</image:title>
<image:caption>The vagina and the bladder share a large number of the same normal bacteria as part of the biome. When the levels of good bacteria (like Lactobacillus) are lower, women get more UTIs. Vaginal probiotics (suppositories that go in the vagina instead of by mouth) have been shown to decrease the risk of bladder infections by reestablishing the good bacteria inside the vagina.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: UTI - Antibacterial Wipes</image:title>
<image:caption>For women with problems with bowel control or when all else fails, daily antibacterial wipes can be used at the opening of the vagina and urethra to decrease the amount of bacteria in the area. These wipes can be used 1-2 times a day to lower the risk of infection.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: Menopause - Black Cohash: Hot Flashes</image:title>
<image:caption>Although many supplements have been used menopausal hot flashes, Black Cohash is one of the only ones that has good evidence of benefit at 540mg per day. Women have also used it for night sweats, vaginal dryness, heart palpitations, nervousness, and irritability but this is less established.</image:caption>

<image:title>Supplements: Menopause - Evening Primrose Oil: Breast Pain and Beyond</image:title>
<image:caption>This supplement has been used for younger women for PMS, but it also shows some benefit for breast pain, hot flashes and mood changes. The dose is usually 500mg per day. Ask your doctor before taking this supplement in combination with other medications.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: Menopause - Melatonin: Insomnia</image:title>
<image:caption>Inability to fall asleep, waking in the middle of the night, and hot flashes at night are common causes of poor sleep during the menopausal transition. Melatonin is a hormone that your body makes to help you fall asleep gently and 3-10mg per night is a typical dose.</image:caption>

<image:title>Supplements: Vaginal Health - Vaginal Dryness: Before Menopause</image:title>
<image:caption>Even before menopause, some women have issues with dryness during sex. There are so many options for vaginal lubricants, choosing can be daunting. For use with toys, water-based lubricants like Good Clean Love and Shibari are great. If you want a natural oil based option, Coconut Oil works very well. For the longest lasting effect, silicone-based products are ideal- Uberlube is excellent. For those trying to get pregnant, Preseed is an option that doesn’t interfere with fertility goals. For a regular vaginal moisturizer you can use when trying to get pregnant (or not!), Kunda’s Nourish Drops are great!</image:caption>

<image:title>Supplements: Vaginal Health - Vaginal Dryness: After Menopause</image:title>
<image:caption>After menopause, vaginal dryness is often caused by atrophy- or lack of estrogen in the vagina. If you are not able to use vaginal estrogen, vaginal moisturizers that reset vaginal pH can be used (when not having sex)- Revaree (Hyaluronic Acid), Replens (Glycerin), and Good Clean Love Gel. Kunda vaginal drops are probably my favorite- They comes with vitamin E and Hyaluronic acid or with CBD from hemp to relax the pelvic floor. For lubricants with sex, I recommend Apricot Kernel Oil, Coconut Oil (oil-based) or Uberlube (silicone based). If using toys, Good Clean Love (water-based) is a great choice.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: Vaginal Health - Vaginal Odor</image:title>
<image:caption>Although causes can range from bacterial vaginosis to yeast to typical body odor, there are safe ways to treat this embarrassing problem. Boric acid vaginal suppositories work for both yeast and bacterial vaginosis and can be used after sex or a period to reacidify the vagina, preventing infection. Vaginal probiotic suppositories can bring in healthy bacteria to guard against future infections. When the odor is more from the folds of your legs then the vagina, a body deodorant like Lume is a great option.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: Vaginal Health - Yeast Infections</image:title>
<image:caption>For women with frequent yeast infections, the itching gets very old. Boric acid vaginal suppositories can treat and prevent these infections, while vaginal probiotic suppositories and oral probiotics pills can bring in healthy bacteria to guard against future infections.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Supplements: Vaginal Health - Vulvar Dryness</image:title>
